No, in fact we encourage applicants to apply as soon as possible to have the widest range of job opportunities available.

The application process normally requires between 45 to 3 months (3 months is the most common) in order to get your work Visa.

Applying early can help teachers get a confirmed offer and start the process sooner while having more choices interviewing with different positions. We will help you collect your documents and provide tips and tricks for the best ways to gather them.

A contract will either be 1 calendar year of 12 months or 10 months for public schools. All contracts may be extended depending on mutual agreement between you and your institute. Alternatively, you are welcome to reapply with us.

Once you arrive at the arranged location for the airport pickup, you will be greeted by a member of the school of educational institute you will be working at. Your contracted teaching institution will have your flight details to meet you on time and you will be brought to your accommodation. 

Yes, you will have your housing provider for some positions or be provided an allowance depending on the position. Upon arrival you will have temporary accommodation on to help you settle in until your accommodation is sorted

If you will be staying in a hotel until your accommodation is sorted then you may but normally this isn’t the case. You will be provided a single hotel room. In rare circumstances if you are required to share, you will only be placed with someone of the same gender. 

Most of the cities in China have a well developed transportation system. We recommended acquiring a metro card on arrival which will cost you around 20 to 30 RMB ($2.80-4.20). Putting 60 to 70 RMB on the card should last you around 1 and a half to 2 weeks. Your school will be happy tot help you.

It would make things a lot easier for you but WIFI is very widespread is most cities. You would be able to buy a sim card at a local convenience store. Read out blog for more information.

A member of our team or the school you work at will help you set up a bank account. You would need a sim card first and your passport.

WeChat is used everywhere in China, make sure it is downloaded before you arrive so you can contact our team directly, get information instantly regarding your arrival, pick up and useful articles that will help you on your arrival. Please let your bank know you may use your card abroad, you do not want it to be swallowed or frozen if they believe it is being used fraudulently. A. Your family & Friends! Make sure somebody at home has all your details of travel in case of emergency. Please also fill out our in case of emergency form so we can call your next of kin! Q. What can I not use in China? A. Gmail! Google is banned in China, please make sure you have an alternative email to use in case you cannot access your Gmail. A. You will need a VPN to access anything to do with Google (if you have a google APP store you will have a problem in China), Social media, WhatsApp. Try these: Express / Astrill / Psiphon

Here’s a helpful tip: ❖ Make sure you bring your driving license or student ID card (anything with photo ID) and when you go to visit some tourist sites you can get a discount as a ‘student’.
